Command Performance is Prince Edward County's community choir, founded in 1988. The choir was formed by a small group of local singers who had come together with various artists and groups from as far away as Kingston to perform in the Quinte Summer Music festival. To date we have just over thirty members from all over the County as well as from Trenton and Belleville.
The choir is committed to provide a variety of music for a Christmas and a Spring Show. The choir has always reached out to the community to sing at other venues and this year we have actively sought out opportunities to make such appearances. We have now begun to build a repertoire of songs to sing for these special occasions.
Moira Nikander-Forrester, BA, B Ed. has been the director since 2003 and has brought to the choir a tremendous amount of energy as well as artistically challenging music with many different styles and genres. Moira has a wealth of experience as a music teacher in the County and Belleville schools and is very active in the Belleville musical theater field.
The 2008/2009 season has seen a major change in the structure of our choir. Moira invited Jane McGall, B Mus, B Ed and ARCT, to share the conducting of the choir with her. Jane's outstanding knowledge with regard to voice and tone production is a wonderful addition to the rehearsal process. Jane and Moira enjoy sharing the chance to conduct and sing the challenging music attempted by this group.

This year, the choir has a new pianist, Marilyne Williams, organist at Victoria Avenue Baptist Church and accompanist at Quinte Ballet School. Marilyne brings a wealth of talent and experience to the position.
Rehearsals are held on Monday Evenings at Bloomfield United Church (7:00 to 10:00 PM) and new members are always welcome in September and January when we begin rehearsing for our shows.
